QoR

In 2010/2011 a few members of SHAT started a little project: The Queens own Rilfes of Canada (QoR) WWII loadout. After a few months the project wasn't so little any more.

We equip ourselves as the members of a Canadian infantry division from D-day 'till VE-day, the Queen's Own Rifles. Our group is currently at 4 members with a fifth and sixth on their way.

Some QoR history can be found on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Queen%27s_Own_Rifles_of_Canada

So what stuff do you need?
Most importantly, we are trying to reflect a real world unit. Out of respect you should try and do a decent job. We are aware that it is airsoft and not official reenactment but some effort is expected and appreciated.
In stead of putting down a detailed kit list here, join the forum ask around and within our group we should be able to help you out.

Some of the stuff you'll need:

  • Webbing, the QoR dyed it black. however replacement gear wasn't dyed so pieces of undyed gear or fresh recruits with undyed equipment wasn't uncommon later on during the war. (so dying it isn't mandatory, but you can save some money by buying webbing that looks horrible and just dye it black.
  • Uniform, post war Dutch battledress can be found for 30 euro's or so and will do the job.
  • Ammo boots
  • Helmet
  • Beret (Dutch brown postwar is easy and cheap and will do the job)
  • Insignia and stuff, we have some places to order those
  • A replica Stengun, Bren or Lee Enfield are perfect and preferred. Temporarily a Thompson or mp40 is acceptable. But please don't show up with an M4.
